Amigurumi Guinea Pig Pattern

I have no decent pictures at the moment, but this little guinea pig is textured and simple. Enjoy!

GUINEA PIG

Materials
Size C Hook
Worsted Weight Yarn
10mm black safety eyes
15mm pink safety nose
Tapestry Needle
Fiberfill
Notes
-         A suitable fabric for a stuffed animal should be firm with no holes. Use whatever hook gives you that fabric
-         Gauge is not essential for this pattern.\
-    Abbreviations: sc = single crochet; dc = double crochet; dec= decrease; st(s) = stitch(es)
Body
Starting at face, make a Magic Ring, ch. 1
Rnd 1: 6 sc into Magic Ring; close ring. (6)
Rnd. 2: (sc, dc) around. (12 sts.)
Rnd 3: *sc in next st, (dc, sc) in next st, dc in next stitch, (sc, dc)* around. (18 sts)
Rnd 4: *sc in next st, dc in next st, (sc, dc) in next st* around (24 sts)
Rnd 5: *sc in next st, dc in next st around (24 sts)
Rnd 6-12: repeat Rnd. 4 (24 sts)
-add nose and eyes after Rnd. 6
Rnd 13: *sc, dc, sc decrease, dc, sc, dc decrease* around. (18 sts)
Rnd 14: *sc, dc decrease* around (12 sts)
-stuff firmly
Rnd 15: *sc dec, dc dec* around. Join and FO.
- FO, close the hole.
Ears (make 2)
Row 1: ch. 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each across. Ch 1, turn. (3 sc)
Row 2: sc decrease in first, sc in last. Ch 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 3: sc decrease. FO.
-Sew ears to head, shaping them into a curve as you sew
Legs (make 4)
Make a Magic Ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in Magic Ring. (4)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st. around (8 sc)
Rnd 3: sc in each st. around. (8 sc)
 FO. Sew to body.

  1. first, the rows 6-12 do no seem enough so i put in a lot extra to get the desired length. second, i am very confused with the legs!

  2. I think there is a typo in the pattern. Where it says Rnds 6-12 should repeat Rnd 4, I believe it should say to repeat Rnd 5 instead. Rnd 4 is an increasing Rnd, and yet it says Rnds 6-12 should all have 24 sts.

  3. How do you get 12 stiches in round 2...shouldn't it be like 9? So do you make a magic circle with 8 or do I just keep single crochet, double crocheting until I have 12?
